Welcome to the City of Ute! We are located in the west central part of Iowa in Monona County along the Soldier River. We are located 55 miles South of Sioux City 70 miles North of Omaha, NE. With the highways 183 and 141 meeting in Ute, it’s easy to reach the bigger cities, while still enjoying all that small-town life has to offer. We have a population of 374 (2010 census).

The City of Ute has hired Triple C Pest Control to spray for mosquitos starting Tuesday May 19 just before dusk, weather permitting. Spraying will continue every Tuesday for 16 weeks. Contact City Hall to be added to the 2026 pre-spray notification list.
